“I had many of these little sonic impressions floating around for many months, and the initial process was even more abstract than in the making of previous albums. Usually things start with making collages of different sonic experiments and textures, sometimes from totally different moments in time and location, which then often lead to thrilling accidents and surprises. This album was especially mystifying at times but then there were some very unexpected and inspiring discoveries. The records make themselves in a sense, the performance as well as the assembly and mixing process is highly spontaneous and improvisational. I mostly don’t know how it’s happening but i deeply trust the process and found that themes of light and luminosity kept recurring. I know when a piece is done when it evokes that subtle but profound sense of synesthesia and a familiar but hard to define emotional landscape. I hope that the listener can melt into that same mysterious realm, and make new discoveries on each listen.”
