For ‘Purvayi’, the Punditz teamed up with their long-time trusted collaborator and touring mate Papon, the amazingly talented folk singer from Assam. The track takes inspiration from Assamese folk music and nature. The word Purvayi itself means ‘Easterly Winds’ and the song has an old school MP Nostalgic feel to it with Melodic Drum and Bass interwoven with the blissful folk vocals of Papon. “Sun ree Purvayi, Kaho des tu jaye… Pi ko dekhan jee chahey”. O, easterly wind, which ever land you blow to, pls take tell my beloved, I yearn to see him/her.

A set of 5 remixes are included in the EP, with contributions from a highly diverse set of super talented artists from the world over: Bombay Dub Orchestra, OX7GEN, Karsh Kale, Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society and Anhad + Tanner. The latest EP from Midival Punditz is scheduled for worldwide release on 18-Oct-2019 on all major purchase and streaming platforms.
