Ayriliq means separation, and after Holmes Ives heard opera singer Mete Tasin singing the popular Turkish folk song, the two recorded their own version. The original is a new take on the classic, blending electronic production with cello and harp. Ayriliq was sent out for remixing, and Istanbul’s Anatolian Sessions reworked the track into a dancefloor banger with a pulsing progressive house beat. Holmes Ives’ himself provides the lounge inspired Velvet Remix, while Black Masala takes the track on a global music journey and closing out the release is Honest Lee’s modern trip-hop version.
