Força do Gesto is the new solo album by Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Lara Klaus, best known as the drummer & one of the vocalists with rising Latin Alternative band, Ladama. On her solo debut, Lara explores a variety of new musical flavors, including unique percussion combinations that incorporate everything from the drum kit to many instruments with African roots. She also plays acoustic and electric guitars on the project.

Produced by Lara and Tomaz Alves, the record features nine original compositions, as well as a newly-arranged cover of the influential Brazilian group Azymuth’s song “Tamborim, Cuíca, Ganzá, Berimbau.“ Força do Gesto was recorded in Recife, Brazil and New York and features contributions from Zé Manoel, Mavi Pugliesi, André Macambira, Daniela Serna, Alex Asher, and Domenica Fossati.
