Opium Moon – Feast of Sevens (Single)

TRACK LIST

  1. Feast of Sevens

Opium Moon serves up a tantalizing taste of their forthcoming second album with Feast of Sevens — a new single sizzling with suspenseful, pulsing rhythms, rapturous melody, and a slinky, James Bond-ian vibe that exudes retro cool, yet sounds as fresh as anything you’d see onstage at Bonnaroo. Available on all digital platforms on May 7th through Six Degrees Music.

MB Gordy’s powerfully resonant, ancient-sounding percussion and Itai Disraeli’s deep, driving bass lines open the song like a heavy, exotic curtain, opening to reveal a cinematic soundscape that unfolds as Hamid Saeidi’s delicate santoor weaves a silky counterpoint to the expressive, soaring voice of Lili Haydn’s violin. Beat-laden and atmospheric, the song showcases the virtuosity and intuitive chemistry of the Grammy-winning quartet.

This new single and this summer’s release of Opium Moon’s DAY + NIGHT double album come at an auspicious time for violinist and vocalist Lili Haydn, whose first solo album in several years — More Love — was released on the Lakeshore label this spring, along with a flurry of film and TV projects featuring her captivating scores. These include the Netflix feature documentary Strip Down, Rise Up by Oscar-nominated director Michele Ohayon and Oscar winner Freida Mock’s documentary RUTH: Justice Ginsberg in Her Own Words, which debuted last month on Starz. Additionally, Haydn co-composed the music for the hit series Ginny & Georgia, just renewed by Netflix for a second season, with a soundtrack album also newly released.
