“The sound of the radio has always been an integral part of my musical experience. Growing up in the sprawling city of Los Angeles a lot of time is spent driving in the car, with the radio on. Switching from station to station trying to find the sounds you desire. Before portable audio devices this was the main way to listen to music, in the car as you rode the endless southern California boulevards. Latin radio, talk radio, commercials, station ids all coming through the radio dials. I tried to combine my love of radio with my love of the music of Vangelis; this is how ‘Lovers Radio’ came about.
The track was remixed by The Orb who added some brilliant beats and samples taking the track to a place I could have never imagined. When I asked my friends to do some remixes from my album ‘Serenitay Infinitay’ many chose the track ‘Lovers Radio’ and I was very happy with the results. To have ambient legends like The Orb & Dr Atmo as well as good friends from the bay area underground Marshall Watson and Chlorophil do their own versions, was a dream come true.” — DF Tram
