UMUT ADAN & ZEBÂNIS

 RELEASE NEW SINGLE “BOGOTÀ”
(Six Degrees Records — September 25, 2025)

Umut Adan & his band, Zebânis return with “Bogotà,” a hypnotic protest anthem and the first of three singles leading to their forthcoming album Başka Bahar on Six Degrees Records. Out September 25, 2025, the track is both a song of rebellion against all hierarchies in the world and a cry against the subjugation of human by human.

Anchored in the traditions of Anatolian psych and propelled by the communal pulse of cumbia, “Bogotà” transforms folk memory into a modern, global groove. Fuzz-drenched guitars, trance-like basslines, and insistent percussion combine into what the band calls danceable dissent: music that makes you move while refusing to bow.

The single also heralds the arrival of Başka Bahar, a diasporic and uncompromising record conceived between Istanbul, Turin, and Brussels. Rejecting nostalgia and exoticism, the album embraces rupture, recomposition, and sonic collage — a political-poetic soundscape where protest and poetry intertwine. As the band declares: “Başka Bahar is a collective eruption — rejecting nostalgia, undoing tradition, and transfiguring the political voice into an electronic tempest.”

Adan’s musical path has included such milestones as an invitation by Jack White to open his Istanbul concert, London sessions with producer/engineer Liam Watson (The White Stripes, Elephant), and a debut album Bahar (Riverboat Records) hailed by DownBeat (★★★★) and Magnet Magazine as best-in-genre. With his Italian bandmates Zebânis, he now pushes protest folk into the present tense, marrying analog warmth with global reach and uncompromising vision.

With “Bogotà,’ the lead track from the upcoming full-length album, Umut Adan & Zebânis deliver not only a single, but a call to rhythm, resistance, and freedom.
