Six Degrees Emerging Artists Series

Inspired by the opportunities afforded by digital distribution  Six Degrees Records is launching a new "digital only" series of releases dedicated to breaking new artists.  The Six Degrees Emerging Artists Series will bring the freshest talent in eclectic, genre bending music in a digital only format. 

"As we enter into our tenth year as an independent label, it is more important than ever to be reactive to changes in the market place," says Six Degrees president and label co-founder, Bob Duskis. "While we've all seen the decline at traditional retail, we've been experiencing healthy growth in our digital business.  This business model allows us to be more adventurous in releasing plentiful new music with more up-and-coming artists.  A tremendous amount of exciting and innovative music comes through our doors and this scenario lets us put it in the hands of the public."

"In some ways, this model is a return to the early days of the record business where tracks were recorded, pressed, sent to radio and in the stores in a much quicker time span than we see today.  By bypassing the constraints of manufacturing, new music can be in the hands of the consumer on an international level very quickly, giving us the ability to see what is resonating with our listeners and to be more reactive on a marketing and sales level."
